Hair ties have come a long way from when they first started. From flimsy elastics to scrunchies, and now coil hair ties, we’ve seen it all!
While coil hairbands are somewhat new and definitely unique looking, they have so many uses and benefits that you can’t help but see what the hype is all about.
They don’t pull, crease, or break your hair. The hair ties are cute, hygienic, and useful. Does it get any better than that?
So how do women use these unique hair ties? Check out the top five ways!
High ponies take time and patience, right? When you finally get the hair ‘just so’ the rubber band makes it so tight that you feel like your eyes are being pulled back, right?
Hair coils make the high pony effortless and pretty, not to mention painless. Flip your hair upside down and get your hair pulled into the perfect high pony position. Slick all your hair back and tie it up with your hair coil. If you have really thick hair, you may want two. Wrap them around your hair two or three times and pull tight. It won’t even feel like you have a ponytail in, and you’ll have a trendy look.

A Fancy Messy Bun
Want something more than the standard messy bun? Throw your hair into a high pony, using the coil hair ties. Next, split your pony into three sections (more if you have super thick hair). Twist each section so they create a loose mini bun and secure it in the loop of the coil tie. Do this for all three sections and you have a ‘fancy’ messy bun.
A Half-Up Fancy Do
If you’re tired of the same look day in and day out, have a little fun with your hair ties. Grab half of your hair, leaving the other half down. Pull it back, securing it with your coil. For fun, leave a few pieces of hair framing your face.
Grab some loose pieces on the side of your ponytail and loop them back through the loops on the coil tie. Do as many or as few as you want. You know have a tousled, yet elegant half-updo.
Make Beachy Waves
Want the surfer girl, beachy waves without all the work? Coil hair ties create that look overnight!
Start with damp hair and separate your hair into three sections top to bottom. Secure the top portion into a bun on the very top of your head. Twist the hair before you secure it so you get the waves you want.
Do the same with the middle portion of your hair and finally the bottom portion. You should have three ‘buns’ in a vertical row down your head. Leave them overnight (sleep on them) and in the morning gently release the ties from your hair and use your fingers to separate the beachy waves.
Tie Back Face Framing Braids
If you want a sweet, feminine look, create two face-framing braids and tie them back with a hair coil. You can tie them tight in the back of your head for a more modern look, or tie them loose for the hippy, flower girl appearance.
If you want to make it a little ‘dressier’ you can tie one strand of loose hair around the coil or you can leave it be as they are trendy and as cute as can be!
Coil ties are a great way to change up your hairstyles and give your head a break from the painful hair ties! Whether you love simple looks like ponytails, are a messy bun type girl, or just love to play around with different styles, coil ties are a great way to add a little color and fun to your hair without the pain or damage standard hair ties cause!
